Having dinner at a good steakhouse is such a treat. STK is one of my top favorites, but it is not a local restaurant for us. Sometimes my husband and I want a great steak, but we do not necessarily want to go out for it, nor pay steakhouse prices for something I know can easily be made at home. Here is my simple recipe for a wonderful "steakhouse" dinner with the classic sides of asparagus and mushrooms. The entire meal can be made in one pan!
The recipe for potatoes shown in the final plated picture will be featured in a separate blog post, as they are a great side for any protein!
What you need:
oil (I use canola)
steak (either strip or filet mignon)
1-2 garlic cloves
1 sprig rosemary
mushrooms (baby bella, white, crimini, shiitake or a blend)
beef or veggie broth
salt & pepper
one or all of the following - truffle butter, truffle oil, truffle zest

I love to cook. My kitchen is one of my happy places because I get to be creative. Although I own many cookbooks, I throw meals together based on what I have on hand - so it is rare that I make a meal the same way every single time. I may follow a recipe initially, but tend to use them more as guideline and do my own thing.
